With so many supermarkets to choose from, it’s no wonder mySupermarket have created an app to point you in the right direction of the cheapest deals. Their app mySuperlist allows you to create your own shopping list and check which supermarket (ranging from the big names to Ocado and Waitrose) is selling those items for the cheapest price.
The app also helps you find the best deals while you’re in store, as its ‘savvy buys’ section highlights the items that are at least 30 per cent cheaper than their average price and lets you set price alerts so that you’re never paying over the odds for your favourite items!
Available on: iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Windows 7
It can be so frustrating when you constantly seem to miss out on the latest deals or discounts, but you don’t have to worry about this anymore with the Vouchercloud app. The app uses GPS technology to find the best deals and discounts nearest to your location and notifies you of them whilst you’re out and about. The app has been getting rave reviews online, so why not give it a go?

If you use your mobile data quite a bit, then you could make your money go that little bit further by downloading the Onavo Extend. This app claims to save you 80% on your data plan by compressing the data that you use while on your phone. It also gives you information on how much data you use, so you always know what apps are using the most data.

With the winter coming, we’ll all be starting to switch the heating on and bundle ourselves up for hours watching endless boxsets on Netflix. But as it can be all too easy to lose track of the energy we consume, the Meter Readings app can be a helpful way to monitor this. Although it does come with an initial one-off fee, using the app for an extended period of time could save you more in the long run if it reduces the amount you spend on bills.
