Now that summer is out of the way, you may feel as though there’s not much to look forward to, what with Christmas still a couple of months away and summer a distant memory. But just because autumn is here doesn’t mean that you should stop enjoying yourself. There are lots of activities that you can get up to with the family - we’ve rounded up a few of our favourites!*

Wicked, Apollo Victoria Theatre

If there’s one theatre production that is sure to please every single member of your family no matter their age, it’s Wicked. The production is now the 10th longest running show in the West End and it’s not hard to see why when it continues to get such rave reviews year after year. Tickets currently start from £17 but will vary depending on the day and show that you go for.

Bend It Like Beckham, Phoenix Theatre

For fans of the 2002 film Bend It Like Beckham, this production should be right up your street. Although it’s the same story of love, family and football, this production has been given a musical twist which will be sure to have you tapping away in your seats. Tickets start from a reasonable £16.50.

North West

Spooky World at Apple Jacks Adventure Park, Warrington

With Halloween not too far away, why not take your kids along to Spooky World this autumn? There will be interactive characters situated around the park and spooky activities inside so this won’t be appropriate for children under the age of 12. An off-peak ticket (from Sunday to Thursday) starts from £12.

Ticket to the Cake & Bake Show, Manchester’s EventCity

If you’ve got a keen baker in your family or have been watching the latest series of The Great British Bake Off all together then you could get tickets to the Cake & Bake Show at EventCity. The event will see some of your favourite foodies take to the stage including Gregg Wallace, Rosemary Shrager and Lisa Faulkner. Tickets start from £7.50.

Halloween Boat Tour, Birmingham New Road

The Dudley Canal Trust are putting on a spectacular event for Halloween this year, with a family-friendly spooky tour taking you and your family through Dudley’s underground caverns. The event kicks off from Wednesday 28th right up until Halloween and you can pick up a ticket from £7.

Vintage Train Open Day, Birmingham

For something a little different this autumn, you could take the family down to Tyseley Locomotive Works for their open day. The event takes place on Sunday 25th October and will display a variety of locomotives for you to have a look at. You’ll be able to get in on the action yourselves by heading on a passenger shuttle ride and the day will only set you back £14.95 to take the whole family.
