Budget for the early Christmas payday with thinkmoney

Read how the thinkmoney Personal Account will help you cope with the early Christmas payday.
There’s a lot to think about around Christmas time: wrapping the gifts, picking up the turkey in time and decorating your home. With so many things to do before the big day, you’re probably not planning too far past it.
But it’s important that you do, as most people get paid differently around Christmas and your finances will have to be managed to accommodate this. No matter when you’re getting paid this Christmas, your thinkmoney Current Account will help you to keep on top of your budget – and here’s how.
Altering your budgeting
The key benefit of your thinkmoney account is the budgeting service. It should ensure that just the right amount of money is held back from the correct incomes to cover all the bills that you’ve told us about. At Christmas time we make tweaks to the way your budgeting runs to allow for any changes to the way you get paid.
If you usually get paid monthly or every four weeks we know that it’s likely that you’ll get paid a little earlier in December. For example, if you normally get paid on the last Friday of every month, your usual payday would fall on Christmas Day this year, so your employer may decide to pay you a week earlier on the 18th because of this. In this case, we’ll simply adjust your budget to make sure that the bills you have towards the end of December and into January are covered.
For those that get paid weekly or fortnightly, you may receive two or three times your normal wages all in one go. Again in this scenario we’ll budget for the bills due out of your account up to the date we next expect you to get paid.
