Christmas 2016: thinkmoney's opening hours at Christmas

Published 11 December 2016 by

It’s easy for things to slip through the net at Christmas. After all, you’ve got so much to think about – buying all of the presents, wrapping everything and trying to plan for Christmas dinner. With all of that in mind, will you really have any time to think about your finances?

Just make sure you take a moment to think about how your budgeting will work over the Christmas period. After all, if you’re paid monthly, you’ll usually get this early in December – and that’s got to last you until January. If you’re a thinkmoney customer, you won’t need to worry about this – here’s why.

Taking care of budgeting

You don’t need to let us know if you’re getting paid differently over Christmas. We know that a lot of people will get money earlier and we’ll automatically adjust your budgeting to deal with this.

For example, if you usually get your paycheque on the last Friday of the month, that would be 30 December. But you’ll probably get this on 23 December instead – we know to expect this. We’ll make a few tweaks to your budgeting to make sure we’re holding funds for the extra bills you’ll have to cover towards the end of December and through January.

And if you usually get paid weekly or fortnightly, you might get the equivalent of two paycheques in one go for Christmas. Don’t worry – we’ll recognise this and we’ll budget for all of the bills in between your Christmas wage and when we next think you’ll get paid.
