Building up the motivation to start your Christmas shopping is the easy part, it’s knowing what to buy that can prove tricky – particularly, when it comes to the women in your life. If you have a wife, girlfriend, Mum or sister to buy for, we’re here to provide you with a little inspiration on what to get them.
Stocking fillers (under £10)
Suede trim gloves
Let’s face it, winter lasts a whole lot longer than it’s supposed to in the UK – so why not purchase these suede gold trimmed gloves from F&F at Tesco? At just £10, they look much more expensive than their budget-friendly price tag!
You’d be hard pushed to find a woman that doesn’t like a box of smellies at Christmas time and this set from Soap & Glory is the perfect stocking filler. It’s only £10 but is packed with a variety of goodies that is sure to please your leading lady!
The Theory of Everything DVD

If you didn’t get a chance to catch The Theory of Everything in the cinema, then it would make the ideal stocking filler this Christmas. The film chronicles the life of Stephen Hawking and is worth buying for Eddie Redmayne’s Oscar-winning performance alone – it’s a bargain at £6.99!
We’re sure this is going to be on the top of a lot of people’s lists this Christmas – Adele’s long-awaited third album, 25. We don’t need to tell you that you’ll have to be quick if you want to have this wrapped under the tree for Christmas Day, so be ready for its release on 20th November.
The main event (under £100)
War Horse tickets
If you’re looking to get something for the woman that has everything, then why not give her an experience to remember by buying her tickets to see War Horse. The production is taking place at New London Theatre until March and tickets start from £15.
Vogue subscription (12 issues)
Have a wife or sister that lives for fashion? Then a subscription with the ultimate fashion bible Vogue could go down a treat. You can currently get 12 issues of the UK magazine for £19.99 and this offer includes free digital editions of the magazine and a welcome gift!
We would normally say to proceed with caution when buying clothes for a loved one, but we’re sure the majority of women would love this sequined blouse from H&M. It’s reasonably priced at £24.99 and would look chic when paired with plain trousers or a skirt (something we’re sure everyone has in their wardrobe).
In case the blouse doesn’t go down well or is the wrong size, make sure you ask for a gift receipt at the till so that the item can be returned or exchanged.
Nails INC nail polish
If the person you’re buying for has a different nail colour every week, then we’re sure they’re going to love this Nails INC gel effect collection. The set was inspired by the colours of the Autumn/Winter season and the kit contains six limited edition shades – not bad for £27.55.
As long as you do your research beforehand, perfume can be a hit at this time of the year. If she’s not dropped any hints of what she’d like, make a note of the perfumes that she has already and ask the shop assistant for any recommendations when you go in store.
The ultimate gift for any bookworm this Christmas (especially commuters) would be an e-reader. Nowadays, you don’t have to go too high-tech to get a decent one – the Kindle 6” is good enough to start with and has been updated to include touchscreen display and is glare-free. The Kindle starts at £59.99.
If the person you’re buying for is a happy-snapper, why not take them back to basics with a Polaroid camera? This Fujifilm Instax Camera comes with 20 shots included and will produce beautiful candid images in an instant. Although slightly more extravagant at £75.69, we’re sure the camera will capture some great memories on Christmas day!
