Save space when you’re packing for the bank holiday weekend and put together a capsule wardrobe.
Planning a trip for the upcoming bank holiday weekend? You’ve probably already started to think about what you’re going to take with you. If you tend to overpack, make sure you travel light on this trip by putting together a capsule wardrobe – a selection of clothing you can easily mix and match with each other.
To give you an idea of the budget-friendly (and stylish) pieces you could take with you, we’ve put together our own capsule wardrobe for the long weekend.*
No matter whether you’re travelling abroad or exploring the UK this bank holiday, you’ll need to pack a jacket for your travels. A safe bet is a biker jacket like this one from Primark. It’s effortlessly edgy and you can pick one up fairly cheaply – this one’s only £14!
Jeans are another must-have staple. If you don’t have a favoured pair to take with you, why not try this skinny pair from Primark? They’re great value at just £13.
A basic, tailored shirt is a top for all seasons. It’ll keep you cool if you’re travelling to a warmer destination or be ideal to layer up with if the weather’s not so warm. This cotton shirt from H&M is simple and chic in design and comes in at £14.99.
With just the three items that we’ve mentioned you’ve already got a complete outfit. To give you something to substitute the jeans for, make sure you pack a lightweight skirt like this one from Primark – it’s only £10.
For walking around in the day and heading out at night, you’ll need a frock that you can dress up – this tea dress from Primark could do the trick! Match with the biker jacket and some heels for a more dressed-up look. Not bad for just £13!
Speaking of shoes, these peep toe boots are the perfect mix of a sandal and boot. They can be worn with pretty much anything and look comfortable enough to walk around in all day! At £16, you’d be able to wear these boots through spring and into summer.
For a more casual look, remember to take some sensible pumps like these from F&F at Tesco. They’re only £12 and would look stylish with jeans.
While out and about, you’re going to need something to put all of your essentials in. This bucket bag from Primark looks roomy and is great value at just £5.
In total, this eight item capsule wardrobe comes in at just £97.99 – showing that you don’t have to take your whole wardrobe with you or spend a fortune when going away on a short break!
