Dan's Devilish Deals
Published 25 October 2012 by Daniel Culpan
Are you looking for a gruesomely good Halloween - without the grisly cost? Here's a round-up of some of the best Halloween deals that you won't want to miss, saving you money on everything from party ideas to the perfect trick or treat costume.
Halloween is almost here, which means a whole host of frightful festivities and ghoulish good fun ahead.
However, if you don't want the sight of your bank balance to leave you looking as white as a ghost afterwards, you'll need to look out for the best money-saving deals and special offers this October 31st. To save you time (and give you a bit longer to carve the pumpkin), we've found some of the most spooktacular deals out there.
Keep in mind that all offers are subject to each store's own terms and conditions - and could be changed or removed at the retailer's discretion. All the deals featured were accurate on 25/10/2012 and based on prices online. In-store prices may be different. Ghosts may or may not exist.
Why not indulge your sweet (vampire) tooth with these Halloween-themed goodies? Over at Tesco.com, you can get a 2 pack of Haribo Halloween cupcakes for just £1 (offer ends 5th November), and a pack of Cadbury's Halloween Vampire Mallows for £1 too (until 4th November).
While you're there, you could also make room in your shopping basket for 16 gruesomely good-sounding Chocolate Chip Bats for £1.50 (offer expires 31st October), or some Mr Kipling Frankenstein Fancies for £1 (until 5th November).
Fancy some ice scream? Tesco.com also have 2 for £6 on Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough and Phish Food until 5th November (usually £4.49 each).
Halloween just wouldn't be complete without a pumpkin, so why not head over to ASDA.com, where you can get 2 carving pumpkins for £2 - perfect for making a creepy lantern and pumpkin soup/bread/muffins/cake/stew or whatever terror-ific recipes you have in mind…
For little spooks…
If your little ones are looking for the ideal trick or treat costume, Clothing at Tesco.com has some Halloween outfits at bargain prices.
You could get them a Halloween witch costume or a devil outfit for just £2.
For even smaller spooky kids, Tesco also has £4 Halloween pumpkin slippers and a pumpkin bib for just £2.
For party monsters…
If you're putting on your own Halloween party, why not let your guests get into the Halloween spirit(s) by serving them up a Bloody Mary?
Over at ASDA.com, you could save almost £5 on a litre bottle of Absolut Vodka (was £24.47, now £20) and get a litre of Princes tomato juice for just 80p to concoct the perfect Halloween cocktail. (Just be Drinkaware.)
For some eerie Halloween party atmosphere, consider a visit to IKEA.com, where you can get a pack of 100 unscented tealights for £1.75.
Why not make like a bat out of hell to Woolworths.co.uk for more ideas for turning your home into a Halloween house of horrors? You could get a spider string decoration for £3, and some Halloween-themed 'window clings' for £2.
Are you planning a nightmarish night in?
Over at HMV.com, you could get a range of classic horror DVDs for 'treat' rather than 'trick' prices, such as the Blu-ray edition of 'Halloween' for just £5.00.
Or, at Woolworths.co.uk, you could get a copy of 'SAW VI' for £6.
Alternatively, why not make your own DIY horror movie? Get together with some friends/family, give yourselves a suitably spooky makeover (face paint & costumes at the ready!) and head out to the local park/woods to make your very own 'Blair Witch Project'…
