If you're lucky enough to be jetting off somewhere hot this summer, there's probably a massive list of things you'll need to remember to take with you. Buying everything you need for a holiday can end up being quite expensive - which is why we've scoured the web to find you some of the best deals on summer essentials.

We've also found plenty of deals for those of us planning on staying in the UK this summer. All prices were correct on 27.06.2013 but there's a chance they may have been changed or removed by the retailer since then. Make sure to check VAT, postage and packing before you purchase anything.

Get kitted out for your travels

If you're after a new wardrobe for summer, there's up to 50% off women's and men's clothing at ASOS (including sunglasses and swimwear)! is also offering up to 50% off loads of clothes, including your essential swimwear and sunglasses.

'Wheely' good suitcase deals

There's up to 70% off selected suitcases and luggage carriers at Debenhams, with plenty of different shapes, sizes, designs and colours all having their prices slashed.

This Tripp aubergine coloured suitcase has 73% off and is one of the best offers in the sale at Debenhams, being reduced from £135 to £36!

Sports Direct is also offering suitcases and luggage carriers with big discounts, as there's up to 70% off a selection of lines.

Protect yourself from the sun

Sun cream is a must if you're planning on going anywhere exotic, and luckily there's a better than half-price sale on at Superdrug on Ambre Solaire. You can protect both yourself and your kids with this SPF 50+ sun cream for £6.13.

For short breaks away, you might benefit from these Nivea Sun Protect products that can help you get a tan without damaging your skin.

If, like me, you're allergic or sensitive to certain sun creams, Superdrug also have a better than half-price sale on Piz Buin products - including this factor 30 Allergy Lotion.

You may want to hurry though, as these sales both end on Tuesday!

Holiday reading

There's nothing better than a good book, and whether you're on a long flight or relaxing by the pool, Waterstones has up to 30% off selected paperbacks to provide you with some holiday reading.

Lugging books around might sound like a bit of a chore, so if you're still wanting to read while you're away, the Kobo Mini eReader is down from £49.99 to £29.99 at WHSmith, saving you £20. This pocket sized device can load up to 1,000 eBooks on it, so it's pretty unlikely you'd run out of things to read while you're away.

Splashing about

Just because you might not be venturing to somewhere exotic this summer doesn't mean you can't have some fun in the sun (if we're lucky this year).
