Doing something funny - at thinkmoney!

Published 11 March 2013 by

We're proud to do our bit for Comic Relief on Friday 15th March, when we'll be an official Red Nose Day call centre for the whole evening. Over 150 volunteers from the Think Money Group will be manning the phones to take donations from generous people all over the UK.

It's a simple idea:

  • The company supplies the facilities (phones, computers, premises, etc.)
  • The volunteers give their time.

From 7 till midnight, we'll be waiting for your call!

Just like last year, we'll be running two Red Nose Day call centres at our offices in Salford and in Glasgow.

It all kicks off at 7pm, when our first 120 volunteers take to the phones to process all those donations from caring souls nationwide.

They'll hold the fort for two and a half hours, until the second wave of volunteers take over at 9:30. They won't be going anywhere until the lines close at midnight. After all, every donation counts - and we've found it's always worth hanging on for those last-minute callers.

Want to donate? Just call 03457 910 910*

In the 25 years since the first Red Nose Day burst on to our TV screens, the money that's been raised has gone to a huge range of good causes, both here in the UK and overseas.

There's just way too much to go into here, so check out to see where your money goes. And don't forget to visit the official site after the event to find out how the Think Money Group evening went.

To make a donation, just call 03457 910 910 anytime after 7pm on Friday 15th. Please note: you won't necessarily get through to us, since call centres all over the UK are pitching in to take calls.

Or you can donate online using the 'donate' page on the Red Nose Day site.

Just visit their FAQ page for more ways to make a donation.

It's good to do good

Red Nose Day comes just once a year, but there are millions of people who need help all year round, like the children we're helping in Rwanda through the Fair Children Youth Foundation (FCYF). This is just one of the many good causes that gets Comic Relief funding - and as one of the main charitable causes we help, it's particularly close to our hearts here at the Think Money Group.

Keeping the troops going

An army marches on its stomach - and so does a battalion of Red-Nosed volunteers! So we'll be keeping our troops fired up with a steady supply of food and fizzy drinks.

And we'll be giving the call centres a makeover that should get everyone in the spirit. We're kitting them out with everything from posters to bunting and balloons - and of course, live coverage of the BBC's Red Nose Day programme on the big screens.

A big thank-you to everyone involved - including the thousands of callers we'll be talking to!
