Spring is a time to throw open your doors and windows and enjoy the sunshine. As all that bright light filters into your home, you might notice that some things are looking a bit worse for wear, and there are a few tasks that really need your attention.

Whether you're just adding a lick of paint here and there, or you're looking to do a full-scale renovation, there might be something to help you do it for a bit less here. All these DIY offers were found on 09.05.13, but it's possible that prices have been changed or items have been removed by the retailer since then. Prices may or may not include VAT and postage and packaging.

If you're looking to just spruce the place up a bit, we've found some deals on paint, wallpaper and other stuff to make your home look fantastic.

To get you started, this 14 piece decorating kit from Screwfix is £14.99 down from £29.99. It includes a range of different rollers.

There's £10 off when you spend over £100 at Wilko until midnight on 11th May. While you're there, be sure to pick up this 'everyday value' five-piece paintbrush set for just £2.

To add a splash of colour, there are various offers on Crown coloured emulsions at Homebase, including this 2.5L one in Coral down to £9.37 from £18.74.

Debenhams are having a sale on a range of fashionable wallpaper, including this Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen red manor house wallpaper which is £12.50 down from £25 (50% off).

To stick it all on your walls, this all-purpose wallpaper paste is just £1 from Poundland and this paper hanging brush is £2.65 from Tesco.

5kg of all-purpose Polyfilla is £9.93 down from £16.49 at Homebase.

DIY tools and equipment

If you're looking to do something a bit more drastic in your home, we've found a range of deals on hand tools and power tools to help you.

This Black and Decker orange scorpion saw from B&Q is capable of cutting wood, metal and plastic and comes with three saw blades. It's ideal for straight line or curved cuts. It's £34.98 down from £59.98.

This forge steel tool triple kit from Screwfix includes a claw hammer, a hand saw and an aluminium level. It was £14.99 and is now £9.99.

If you want to knock things down, this 4.5kg sledgehammer is included in Wickes' 'red pencil prices' along with a wide range of other useful tools. It was £28.99 and is now £26.99.

Save a third on this detail sander from B&Q. It can sand even in tight corners, and it costs £38.98 down from £59.98.

If you want to sand, cut, grind, polish, clean and more, try this Black & Decker rotary multitool from Tesco. It's £39.20 down from £49.

This cordless drill from the Range is just £15.99 instead of £24.99.
