Our guide proves that you can update your wardrobe for autumn, without spending a fortune!
Although the fallen leaves on the ground are a big indicator that autumn is here, a simple walk through your local high-street is the ultimate give-away. With the new fashion season comes a whole new range of trends for you to embrace and believe it or not, you can do this for less money than you’d think – £60 to be exact!*
For the ladies, this season is all about the fashion trends of the past. You’ll see hints of the seventies and sixties in your favourite high-street stores and bursts of colour, particularly burnt-orange and bright red. Having searched the high-street for the latest finds, we found the following six items for a good balance of the top fashion trends:
The polo neck is the ideal basic this season, adding a touch of style to any look. Not only that, but a polo neck is incredibly versatile, being something that you can dress up or down, or even wear to work. This one’s a bargain at only £4!
As we’ve mentioned, the seventies is a big trend for this season but you don’t have to opt for bold prints to incorporate the look of the era. You could go for something a little more subtle like this tie-neck blouse from Primark. This blouse is affordably priced at £10 and would make a smart addition to any wardrobe.
Similarly, suede is another big style trend inspired by the seventies. If you’re somewhat daunted by the trend, the simplest way to wear it is in the form of a suede mini-skirt like this. You’d look effortlessly chic, pairing this with a heavy knit, some tights and a pair of sleek boots.
With Kate Middleton recently stepping out in a houndstooth dress, the print is currently everywhere on the high-street. As we don’t all have the budget or access to designer brands like Kate, why not try this monochrome dress from Primark to achieve a similar look? You’ll be glad to know that this dress comes without the designer price tag at just £10.
If there’s just one item that can completely change a look – it’s a hat. We’re not talking anything too elaborate here, just something like this fedora will do. If you’re not really a hat person, this one’s only £4 so is well worth the risk!
The one thing you should really look at for this winter is a good pair of boots. This black heeled pair from Primark are the ultimate hybrid – they’re ankle boots with a killer heel! But their design is not the best part, they’re incredible value at just £18!
There you have it – these six items prove that you can revamp your wardrobe for less than £60. But don’t think we’ve left you out, gents – check back in with us next week to see what budget-friendly items we pick out for you!
