What to wear on a first date for women
Published 28 September 2016 by Kyri Levendi
You don't have to spend a fortune to make a good impression.
You never get the chance to make a first impression twice and for many people, that's what makes the prospect of a first date so nerve-wracking. Although you can't control whether the conversation flows freely or whether you snort while you laugh, you can make sure you look the part.
To make sure you're prepared no matter where your date decides to take you, we're going to take you through a few different outfit ideas and what you could wear for each. All of the outfits included cost no more than £40 each!*
1. Pussybow dress, F&F, £20
2. Black heel courts, Primark, £10
3. Snake print clutch bag, Primark £5
If there's one colour that's going to get your date's attention at dinner, it’s red – so make sure all eyes are on you in a scarlet dress like this one from Tesco. The dress will hug your figure at the waist and create a pretty, feminine silhouette – it's finished off with a keyhole cut on the back and bow detailing on the front.
Pair this vibrant colour with some black vamp heels, and accessorize with a clutch bag like this snake print one – a bargain at just £5. The complete look comes in at the budget-friendly price of £35!
1. Rose print blouse, H&M, £12.99
2. Black corduroy skirt, F&F, £12
3. Black zip ankle boots, Primark, £15
Meeting for a lazy afternoon at the local pub? Stay on-trend this autumn by matching a black corduroy skirt with a loose fitting blouse – this rose print one from H&M is striking and would look chic worn tucked into the skirt.
Finish off your look with some black tights (if the weather is particularly nippy) and a pair of ankle boots like these from Primark – the zip detailing makes the pair look much more expensive than £15!
You don't need to spend a fortune to recreate this look – it comes in at just £39.99!
1. Embroidered jeans, F&F, £20
2. Turtleneck jumper, H&M, £7.99
3. White trainers, Primark, £6
Sip coffee in style this autumn, and stay warm in this chunky-knit turtleneck jumper in powder pink – you'll see this colour everywhere this season. You could pair the oversized knitwear with a pair of slouchy, embroidered jeans like these from F&F.
Embroidery is a big trend for autumn/winter 2016 and will add a nice touch of feminine detail to a standard pair of jeans. Complete the look by rolling up the jeans and wearing a pair of white sneakers – these from Primark are only £6!
At just £33.99, this outfit is a bargain!
