Cheapest Christmas tub prices 2026: Quality Street, Heroes, Roses and Celebrations compared

Christmas isn't Christmas without a tub of chocs under the tree to tuck into.

But our festive treats are set to be more expensive this year, with the Food and Drink Federation forecasting that UK food and non-alcoholic drink inflation will reach 3.9% by December 2026.

Extreme weather and rising production costs are some of the factors putting further pressure on food manufacturers.

It means that it will be important to keep an eye on the cost of festive favourites including Quality Street, Cadbury Heroes, Cadbury Roses and Celebrations.

You don't need wait until December to buy, supermarkets have already started promotions on tubs.

If you have the will power, stocking up now could pay off.

But there are also plenty more ways shoppers can get save including working out which tubs offer the best value .

Cheapest Quality Street Christmas choc tubs

The classic Christmas chocolate is currently one of the cheapest for savvy shoppers.

Tesco and Sainsbury's are going head-to-head to selling a 550g Quality Street Chocolate Tub for £3.95 with a Clubcard or Nectar card.

That works out at approximately £7.18 per kilogram.

The standard price is £7 at Tesco or £6.50 at Sainsbury's, so you'll need to be signed up to Tesco's Clubcard or Sainsbury's Nectar card to get the lower price.

The offer is running until 29 September 2026 at Tesco or slightly longer until 6 October at Sainsbury's.

The third cheapest price is currently at Asda where the 550g tub is £5.72.

Cheapest Celebrations choc tubs

Tubs of Celebrations have become as much of a Christmas staple as mince pies.

Tesco is the cheapest supermarket selling 500g Celebrations for £3.95 with a Clubcard.

That works out at approximately £7.90 per kilogram.

You'll need a Tesco Clubcard to get the offer price or will pay the usual price of £7.

The offer is running until 29 September 2026.

The second cheapest price is Sainsbury's which is offering the tubs for £4.50 with a Nectar card until 6 October.

Or third cheapest is currently at Asda where the 500g tub is £5.72.

Celebrations vs Heroes vs Quality Street vs Roses

Even though Celebrations and Quality Street are both the same price at Tesco and Sainsbury's, they are not of equal value.

Quality Street is a bigger 550g tub versus Celebrations 500g tub, which means you're getting more choc for the price with Quality Street.

Cadbury Roses and Cadbury Heroes standard tubs weigh even less at 475g each.

It means that in terms of top value the current rankings are:

That's a discount of £1.55 off the normal price of £6.50 and works out at approximately £10.42 per kilogram.

The discount offer is running until 6 October 2026.

The second cheapest price is currently at Tesco where the same sized tub is £5.25 with a Clubcard.

Cheapest Cadbury Roses tub

We all love Cadburys Roses at Christmas.

Sainsbury's offers the cheapest price, selling the standard 475g Cadbury Roses tub for £4.95 with a Nectar card.

That's a discount of £1.55 off the normal price of £6.50 and works out at approximately £10.42 per kilogram.

The discount offer is running until 6 October 2026.

The second cheapest price is currently at Tesco where the same sized tub is £5.25 with a Clubcard.

How to get the cheapest prices on Christmas chocolate tubs

Remember, the cheapest tub is not necessarily the best value tub, you need to look at the unit prices.

Most supermarket list the price per kilogram underneath headline prices.

Or you can work it out yourself with this easy calculation: Price ÷ weight in kilograms = price per kilogram.

Keep an eye out for promotions in the lead up to Christmas but don't assume because a tub is on offer that it's the cheapest.

Always use a price comparison site to check if any rival stores can beat the offer.
