The world's biggest tennis stars are back in SW19 this week as The Championships get underway.

If you've got Wimbledon fever, we reveal where you can watch games for free as well as pick up free tennis sessions and other goodies.

There are loads of ways to celebrate Wimbledon without whacking your budget. Here's what's available.

Free strawberries

Nothing says Wimbledon like strawberries and Aldi is giving away thousands of free punnets its Wimbledon store until the end of today while stocks last.

If you can't make it to Wimbledon, shoppers nationwide can still benefit from reduced prices, with selected British strawberry punnets starting from 99p at the supermarket.

If you're in SW19, Tesco is also celebrating the tournament by handing out free bowls of strawberries and cream from its special Wimbledon-themed van.

The van will be located near Wimbledon Station today with giveaways beginning from 11am while stocks last.

Free tennis lessons and activities

If watching Wimbledon has you wanting to pick up a racket, you can take advantage of loads of free tennis events.

During the Championships, many local tennis clubs and parks across the UK hold free tennis events, so it's worth checking your local club.

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) also runs LTA Open Days throughout the year, with many clubs hosting extra sessions during Wimbledon fortnight to encourage more people to pick up a racket.

If you're in London, one of the biggest free tennis events takes place at Wimbledon Park on Saturday 4 July.

The LTA's 'Middle Saturday – Opened Up' festival offers:

  • Free coaching sessions for children and adults

  • Free court bookings

  • Wilson goodie bags

  • Tennis challenges and games

  • Family activities throughout the day

Thousand of venues also host the free Barclays Big Tennis Weekend events across the year, offering free coaching, social tennis, games and taster sessions for beginners and returning players.

Some are even taking place this weekend, check the LTA website to find your nearest.

Free places to watch Wimbledon

You don't need a ticket to enjoy the action.

Many towns, shopping centres and public spaces screen Wimbledon matches on big screens throughout the tournament helping you to soak up the atmosphere with trekking to South West London.

Local councils, business improvement districts and shopping centres often announce free screenings, allowing fans to soak up the atmosphere without paying for Centre Court tickets.

Try Summer by the River in London Bridge or The Green in Manchester's pop-up park.
