If you’re in the mood for a quiet moment and a sweet treat, head to your local Tesco this weekend. Tesco is giving people a free hot drink and a biscuit this Saturday only (11 April) at selected stores across the UK.

You don’t need to buy anything. Just park in one of Tesco’s new Park & Pause bays and a Tesco ambassador will bring your cuppa straight to your car window.

What’s the deal?

As part of the supermarket’s “Need anything from Tesco?” campaign, shoppers will be able to park up at the designated Park & Pause bays for a little breather.

The Park & Pause bays will have a stopwatch symbol, showing this is somewhere you can pause and gather your thoughts before heading into the store or going back home.

If you stop at a Park & Pause bay, you’ll have a free Tesco Finest hot drink hand delivered to your car, along with a free biscuit. You don’t need to buy anything, you just need to turn up between 8am and 5pm this Saturday (11th of April).

Where can you get it?

You’ll find Park & Pause bays at 10 Tesco stores:

  • Cardiff Culverhouse Cross Extra

  • Coventry Walsgrave Superstore

  • Leeds Seacroft Extra

  • Musselburgh Extra (Scotland)

  • Newcastle Upon Tyne Extra

  • Nottingham Top Valley Extra

  • Portsmouth Extra

  • Royston Extra

  • Southport Extra

  • Wembley Extra

Look out for bays marked with a stopwatch symbol, those are the Park & Pause bays where you can get your free drink and biscuit.

Why is Tesco doing this?

Tesco says many of us use the supermarket as a place to take a breather.
 Its new research found:

  • 42% of Brits admit they “escape” to the supermarket for a break

  • Parents of under‑fours are the most likely to volunteer for a Tesco run (68%)

  • Most parents say the Easter holidays wear them out (71%)

  • Even enjoying a hot drink in peace is hard for many (66%)

Tesco’s Park & Pause bays aim to give shoppers a “micro‑joy”; a small moment of calm during the busy Easter break.
