How to save money at Aldi: 6 tips to cut your food bill

Half term is just around the corner, putting parents under pressure to keep food cupboards stocked while prices keep rising.
To help households stretch their budgets further, Aldi's chief commercial officer has shared how shoppers can save money at the discount supermarket to help budgets stretch further.
Here is what you need to know...
How to get Aldi discounts of 75% off
One of the biggest ways to slash your shop is with Aldi's red-sticker reductions.
The supermarket cuts the price of perishable products by up to 75% on their final day of sale, including fresh meat, bread, fruit and vegetables.
Aldi CMO Julie Ashfield said: "All Aldi stores reduce perishable products by up to 75% on their final day on sale, including bread, meat and fresh produce.
"If you spot something you know you'll use later in the week, check the storage instructions first so you know how long it will keep."
Think about how items can be frozen or used quickly, to make the most of savings.
Look out for Super 6 offers
Aldi's picks six fruit or vegetable items for special discounts every fortnight.
Families can save money by checking the 'Super 6' before shopping and planning meals around those products.
Julie said Super 6 can provide inspiration for everything from lunchboxes and snacks to family dinners, while helping shoppers try new foods at a lower cost.
Shop Aldi's Wonky range
Shoppers looking to save should check out Aldi's Wonky range of fruit and veg.
The products may be unusual shapes or sizes, but they taste exactly the same as standard fruit and vegetables and are often sold at a lower price.
Julie added: "If you're chopping vegetables into a sauce or cutting up fruit for the kids, how they look on the shelf doesn't matter."
Plan two meals using the same ingredients
Aldi is encouraging families to get more value from their weekly shop by planning meals that share ingredients.
For example, vegetables left over from a Sunday roast could be used in a curry, soup or wraps later in the week.
The supermarket's online Meal Planner includes "buy once, eat twice" recipes designed to help households reduce waste and make ingredients go further.
Julie said: "Looking for those simple overlaps before you shop can make the week easier."
Use frozen food to cut waste
Another way families can save money is by keeping frozen fruit and vegetables on hand.
Frozen food can help reduce waste and prevent fresh produce from being thrown away as households are more likely to only use what they need.
Julie said frozen berries work well in breakfasts and smoothies, while frozen vegetables can be added to a range of family meals.
Check Aldi’s price drops before you shop
Aldi has a dedicated section on its website for Price Drops, featuring products that have been reduced.
The offers can include everyday essentials, cupboard staples, frozen food, household products and personal care items.
Browse the Aldi Price Drops page before writing your shopping list and if an item you regularly use is reduced and has a suitable shelf life, buying it at the lower price could help cut future shopping costs.
Avoid stocking up on products you would not usually get.
