Matilda menus, free crafts and £1 kids’ meals: What’s on at Marston’s this half term

Families looking for cheap and cheerful fun this February half term are in luck. Marston’s pubs across the UK are offering kids’ meals for £1, plus a new Matilda‑inspired menu and a line‑up of themed events to keep little ones busy.
The special menu is available in 353 Marston’s pubs, with extra Matilda treats in more than 100 others. And if you can’t make it this week, don’t worry, the Matilda fun runs right through to May.
Below we break down what’s on, where to go, and how to bag the £1 deal (plus get another £1 voucher for a kid's meal which can be used right up until May).
Kids eat for £1 this half term
During February half term, Marston’s is offering Miss Trunchbull’s Mighty Meatballs as part of its Kids Eat for £1 deal. To get the offer, you need to buy one full‑priced adult main meal. It runs at participating pubs from 16–20 February. You can find your nearest participating pub via the Martson's pubs website.
What’s on the kids’ menu?
The temporary Matilda menu includes:
Matilda’s Mischievous Munch Box — a sandwich, crisps, a Fruit Shoot and an ice cream sundae, plus a Matilda-themed activity pack (not included as part of the kids eat for £1 offer)
Miss Trunchbull’s Mighty Meatballs — pork and beef meatballs with hidden-veg pasta
Miss Honey’s Honeycomb Sundae
Each Munch Box also includes a voucher letting you return and get a kids’ meal for £1 (valid until 17 May). So if you go now, you can bag another voucher you can use any time before May to get another £1 meal for your kids.

Matilda events: crafts, parties, hunts and more
Marston’s pubs are also running free and low-cost Matilda-themed activities. These continue beyond half term, making them an easy option for rainy weekends.
Here’s what’s planned:
Matilda’s Marvellous Party – crafts, party games and more will be hosted across selected Marston's pubs locations on 20–21 February and 10–11 April.
Matilda’s Mischievous After School Party – kids eat for £1 on Friday 6 March at this Matilda-inspired event.
Matilda’s Marvellous Easter Hunt - over the Easter weekend, there'll be Matilda-inspired event where children search for letters to spell out a Matilda-themed word.
Treats for grown‑ups too
Adults can join in with the nostalgia thanks to Bruce Bogtrotter’s Chocolate Cake Sharer — served at more than 450 pubs nationwide. It’s a big, rich, shareable dessert inspired by the iconic scene from Matilda.

Cheap kid-friendly activities for half term and beyond
Marston's Matilda-themed limited-edition menu is available until 19 April, but some vouchers and activities carry on until May. So there’s plenty of time to take the kids for a themed meal even if half term is packed.
If you want other low‑cost options this half-term, we’ve also pulled together a list of 20+ restaurants and cafes where kids can eat free or for £1; many of these chain restaurants run offers beyond half term too.
