Pokémon Pokopia is out today – here’s how I’m getting it cheaper with PlusSave

It’s a very, very good day to be a Pokémon fan.
Pokémon Pokopia officially launched today on the Nintendo Switch 2 and as someone who has been living and breathing Pokémon since childhood, this release hit me right in the nostalgia. The excitement? Exactly the same as I got when I first booted up my DS all those years ago.
But Pokopia isn’t your usual Pokémon adventure. There are no gyms to rush through, no Elite Four waiting at the end and sadly no ‘catch ’em all’ grind to be found. Instead, the game leans into cosy life-sim energy (think Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley vibes), with the added magic of all your favourite Pokémon pals. You play as a Ditto disguised as a human, restoring a quiet island alongside Pokémon and slowly turning it into a thriving little paradise.
Bulbasaur helps bring greenery back to the island, Squirtle waters your crops, and before long you’re crafting furniture, growing plants, decorating your island, and building your own Pokémon community. As a long-time fan, this feels like one of the most charming and playful Pokémon spin-offs we’ve had in a while. Plus, it’s the perfect way to celebrate 30 years of Pokémon magic, with a fresh take for fans old and new.
The only slightly less charming part? The price. Like most big Nintendo releases, Pokopia lands around £60, depending on where you buy it.
The good news is that if you’re a thinkmoney SmartPlus customer, PlusSave can knock a few pounds off - which is exactly what I went hunting for the moment I saw the game drop this morning.
Currys – 6% off
Currys is one of the better PlusSave options to get your hands on the game right now.
The game is listed at £59.99 and with 6% off through PlusSave, that drops the price to £56.39.
For a brand-new Nintendo launch day release, that’s a pretty solid saving. If you’re already browsing for tech or accessories, it’s an easy place to add Pokopia to your basket.
Main price: £59.99
With PlusSave: £56.39
Nintendo eShop – 9.5% off
If digital is your vibe, the Nintendo eShop is currently the cheapest way to grab Pokopia.
The base price is £58.99, but if you buy discounted eShop credit through PlusSave first, the effective price works out at around £53.39.
Plus it’s instant gratification: download, boot up, and you can start shaping your Pokémon island right away.

GAME – 4.25% off
For anyone who loves the ritual of buying from a dedicated game shop, GAME is your place.
Pokopia is £59.99 and with 4.25% PlusSave, it drops to about £57.44. Not the biggest saving on my list, but hey, every little helps when new Nintendo games creep closer to £70.
Main price: £59.99
With PlusSave: £57.44
Argos – 4.25% off
Argos is convenient if you want same-day collection, but it does come with the highest starting price: £66.99, which drops to £64.14 with PlusSave.
Not the cheapest, but if you’re desperate to start your Pokopia island today, this might still be your go-to.

The fan verdict

Pokopia is the kind of Pokémon game that I imagine you can lose hours in without even noticing. It’s slower, calmer and more creative than the usual formula (Sorry Wind and Waves), with Animal Crossing-style island building and cute little Pokémon helping you every step of the way.
For fans like me, it’s a beautiful celebration of 30 years of Pokémon, mixing nostalgia with a fresh twist that feels magical. And the best part? Using PlusSave means you don’t have to pay full price to jump straight into your Ditto-led island adventure.
I’m already mentally decorating my tiny Pokémon house, organising my crops and pretending it counts as productivity. Spoiler: it absolutely does. Now if only I had a Switch 2...
