If you’ve got a More Card, you can bag Sharp’s Smart 70-inch TV for £419 right now. Morrisons says this is down from £649. The model comes with the TiVo software and is compatible with all the popular streaming apps like Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube. It also comes with Freely in the UK, letting you stream live TV and your favourite on-demand shows for free over broadband (no need for a satellite dish or an aerial).

But is the £419 a good deal for this particular giant TV? And how can you save even more? Read on to find out.

Is Sharp’s Smart 70-inch TV a decent option?

The TV itself has had great reviews when compared to other similarly priced products. Basically, if you’re looking for an affordable Smart TV of this size (70 inches is massive, by the way) and with decent picture quality, you can’t go wrong with this particular model.

A HiFi review said it’s "the best cheap 70-inch TV” the team’s tested, so you do get value for money if size matters. That said, a few reviews mentioned the sound being “a bit thin” so if this turns out to be a concern, you might need to invest in a soundbar.

Is Morrisons’ £419 price point a good deal?

Morrisons is running a “when it’s gone, it’s gone” deal on Sharp’s Smart 70-inch TV currently. With your More Card, you can grab this TV for £419 down from £649.

It’s a good deal, but frankly, we didn’t find a single retailer that sells this TV for more than £450 anyway. Many claim they’ve slashed prices from the original £649 price point, but this price point does not currently exist on the market for this model.

AO sells the TV for £449 for non-members, or £434 if you’re a member. JD Williams is selling it for £439.99. Morrisons is by far the cheapest.

A small niggle though, although it’s basically the exact same TV, the one on sale at Morrisons is the C70GK4045KB version, while the ones on sale at AO and JD Williams is the C70GK4245KB version. From what we could find, they’re the same model with the same features, so this shouldn’t affect the end-user experience, i.e. you might as well go for the cheaper option.

How to get a Sharp’s Smart 70-inch TV for under £410

If you’re a thinkmoney SmartPlus account holder, you get access to PlusSave which offers discounted gift cards across hundreds of retailers, including Morrisons. Currently, you can get 3% off at Morrisons with PlusSave and you can stack discounts too. This means, you could bag your £419 TV for around £406.50 (that’s roughly a £12.50 saving).

And that’s the cheapest way you can get this particular TV as far as we know! Just bear in mind, when it’s gone, it’s gone, so worth checking out your local Morrisons if you’re in the market for a cheap yet massive TV.
