Tesco closing early if England reach World Cup final: What time will stores shut?

Tesco workers will be able to join in with the rest of the country to cheer on England if the football is in the World Cup final on Sunday 19 July.
The supermarket has said it will close its Express stores at 7.30pm instead of the usual 10 or 11pm.
Most of the larger supermarkets are already closed on Sunday by 5pm.
The final kicks off at 8pm and England will secure their spot if they beat Argentina in their clash on Wednesday 15 July.
Why is Tesco closing early?
The store said thousands of Tesco colleagues will have time to get home or to the pub in time for kick-off, if England reaches the final by closing at 7.30pm.
Staff will still receive their normal pay for those hours.
All stores will then reopen as normal the following morning.
Anyone needing supplies at home can use the supermarket's delivery service Whoosh until 11pm.
Kevin Tindall, managing director UK Operations at Tesco said: "We appreciate just how much this would mean to so many of our colleagues, so if England makes it through to the final, we will close our Express stores across England in time for all colleagues to be able to celebrate with their family and friends."
What time will Tesco close if England don't make the final?
If England doesn’t reach the final, Tesco stores will open and close at their normal times - usually 10 or 11pm.
Stores in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will continue to remain open in line with their usual hours.
You can use the store locator on the website to check opening and closing times.
Are any other stores closing early for the World Cup final?
At the moment, Tesco is the only major retailer to have announced the policy.
However, if England win against Argentina on Wednesday, we could very well see more stores following Tesco's lead and closing doors early on Sunday.
If England are in the final, most customers will likely be glued to the action at home or down the pub so it makes sense to let staff enjoy the moment too!
