Tesco Clubcard members can now collect points when shopping with more than 500 more brands, including Nike, Boden and Ticketmaster.

The changes gives shoppers more opportunities to collect points on spending outside Tesco with Black Friday and Christmas just around the corner.

It's great if you want to add to your Clubcard balance ahead of the festive season, however, the value of the rewards varies between partners, so it is worth checking how many points you will earn before making a purchase - and whether you could earn more by using a cashback site, for example.

Here is how the expanded Tesco Clubcard scheme works, how to collect points with the new partners and how to make your rewards go further.

How does the new Tesco Clubcard points scheme work?

Tesco has expanded its Clubcard Points Partners platform, giving members access to more than 500 additional brands.

Previously, points could only be collected through 13 Points Partners outside Tesco.

The new partners include Nike, Boden and Ticketmaster covering a wide range of services and items including beauty, homeware and travel

To collect through Points Partners, members need to head to the retailer's online shop through the Clubcard section of the Tesco app or the Clubcard website and click through to the relevant retailer.

The number of points earned varies by retailer with some partners offering more than the usual one point per £1 spent.

For example, Nike is currently offering up to four Clubcard points per £1 spent - meaning that £100 spent with them could give you 400 Clubcard points.

How much are Tesco Clubcard points worth?

Your Clubcard points are converted into vouchers, with 150 points worth £1.50 in Clubcard vouchers.

You can use the vouchers at their face value with Tesco, including towards your grocery shop and fuel, or exchange them for Reward Partner codes.

This can double or even triple the value of your vouchers, turning £1.50 into up to £4.50.

Best ways to spend Tesco Clubcard vouchers

As with collecting points, you can use Clubcard vouchers with partners - doing this often allows you to squeeze more value from the scheme too.

You can save money on holidays and days out, as well as a fancy dinner.

For example, Tesco Clubcard members can double their voucher value when spending with Cineworld.

Or one of the best ways of using your vouchers is with the supermarket's restaurant partners.

Here you can triple the value of vouchers to spend on food at Prezzo, ASK Italian, Las Iguanas, Bella Italia, PizzaExpress, Frankie & Benny's and Zizzi.

That means £10 of Clubcard vouchers could give you £30 to spend with one of these venues.

Tesco reward partners also include popular days out and resorts, where you can double the voucher value to help save on big UK attractions.
