Tesco, Morrisons, Asda and Aldi Christmas toy sale dates and best deals to grab now

If you're worried about the cost of Christmas, now could be the time to start your shopping.

Not only will you be able to spread spending, but major retailers including Tesco, Morrisons, Asda and Argos have launched major toy sales allowing you to get top kids' presents for less.

However, just because an item is on sale, doesn't mean you are automatically getting the cheapest price.

You should always check if the item will cost you less elsewhere.

We've rounded up the latest toy sales from the UK's major retailers, including some of the best deals available now, when sales are expected from the likes of Aldi and Lidl.

Plus, how to check if you're really getting a bargain.

Tesco toy sale – 50% off selected toys

The Tesco's Christmas toy sale is now live and running until Sunday 1 November but beware that popular deals could sell out before that date.

As part of the promo, there are more than 100 selected toys half-price at larger Tesco supermarkets and Tesco Extras.

You need a Tesco Clubcard to unlock the promotion prices with offers on brands including Disney, Pokémon, Bluey and Hot Wheels.

The range is available in more than 300 larger stores and Tesco Extras, but stock varies between branches.

Morrisons Christmas toy sale

Morrisons has launched its Toy Event, which gives shoppers the chance to get two toys for £16.

More than 100 toys are offered as part of the deal which is available online and in stores until 28 December 2026.

You don't need a Morrisons More card to get the deal and Bluey, SpongeBob, Harry Potter, and Disney toys are among those included.

Many of the toys usually cost £10 each, so you're getting a £4 discount.

Crowd pleasers available in the promotion include the Bluey My First Tech Set, Disney Snow Globes Capsule and Harry Potter Scraper Foil Art Set among the qualifying toys.

Asda Christmas toy sale 2026

Asda is running its Toy Rollback event until 29 September 2026, with selected toys reduced online and in stores.

As part of the offer you can save more than 50% on prices.

Some of the bet deals include:

• The Hapello Beany Bunch, £6.50, down from £13.96.

• The Hot Wheels Multi-Loop Raceoff, £25, down from £50.02.

• The Barbie Nursery Set, £15, down from £30.27

• Wooden Vending Machine, £15, down from £30

• Duckalooz Multipack, £12.50, down from £25.37

You'll need to move fat if you want to get one of the deals as the promotion runs 29 September in stores and online.

Argos Christmas toy sale

Argos is currently offering up to 50% off selected toys, with discounts across brands including LEGO, Disney, Bluey and PAW Patrol.

Some of the best deals include:

• PAW Patrol Pup Squad Patroller Bundle, £20, down from £40

To get some of the deals, you'll need to give codes TOYS30 to get a 30% discount or 50% off with code TOYS50.

Don't forget to pop the designated code in at check-out.

When does Aldi's toy sale start?

Aldi is known for its popular wooden toy Specialbuys, which can sell out quickly.

The retailer's previous wooden toy event launched in October, with the 2025 range arriving in stores on 9 October so it's a good idea to keep your eyes peeled from the start of October.

Specialbuys are currently listed up until 27 September.

You can usually expect wooden kitchens, role-play toys, books and wooden play equipment at comptitive prices.

Should you buy toys now or wait for Black Friday?

This is the big question for Christmas shoppers.

Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, with Cyber Monday on 30 November, with retailers offering some great deals in the run-up and on that weekend.

However, it's impossible to know if prices offered then will beat current offers.

You could consider buying now if:

• The toy is already on your child's Christmas list

• Tt's a genuine price reduction compared with other retailers

• It's a popular toy likely to sell out

• You're using the purchase to spread the cost of Christmas

Or consider waiting if:

• The current discount is small

• The toy isn't particularly popular

• Several retailers have plenty of stock

• You're buying an expensive item where a bigger Black Friday discount could make a significant difference

• You've found a "50% off" price that isn't actually cheaper than competitors
