Mother’s Day is almost here, but you don’t need to panic-buy something pricey to show you care. We’ve sifted through the best supermarket deals happening right now, from budget-friendly beauty buys to discounted hampers, to help you find a thoughtful gift that won’t blow your budget. Here’s where to get the best value for your money this week.

Lidl middle-of-the-aisle Mother’s Day gift sets

Middle of Lidl offers this week are all centred around Mother’s Day, so you’ll find lots of ideas in store. Here are some of the best offers we found:

  • Cien Beauty Hot Air Styler – now £24.99 down from £29.99

  • Sensiplast Foot Spa – now £19.99 down from £24.99

  • Livarno Home Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser - £12.99 each

These offers expire on Saturday (14/03), so don’t leave your shopping to the last minute if you want to grab a deal.

Morrisons 3 for 2 on Mother’s Day gifts

Morrisons is running an online exclusive where you can get any 3 Mother’s Day gift items for the price of 2.

There’s things like:

  • Morrisons Mother’s Day Glass Teapot - £5

  • Morrisons Mother’s Day Memo Pad & Pencil - £2.50

  • Morrisons Mother’s Day Mum Candle - £4

You don’t actually need to get three gifts, as a lot of the items in the offer are things like gift bags, tissue paper and bows, so you could just get one item and a gift bag and bow to package it, for example.

The gifts on offer are on the cheap end, so great if you’re on a really tight budget but still want to get your mum a little something to let her know you’re thinking of her.

You have until this Sunday (15/03) to place your order. Remember, if you’re a thinkmoney SmartPlus customer, you can get 3% off your Morrisons shop with PlusSave’s discounted gift cards.

M&S discounted beauty sets and hampers

M&S has some brilliant discounted beauty sets as well as food hampers to treat your mum whether she’s more into her beauty routine or a foodie who enjoys a treat.

A couple of examples include:

  • The Unwind Edit which is full of beauty products from brands like NEOM, Estée Lauder, and Emma Hardie. The set itself costs £30 and M&S says all the products would normally set you back £142, so it’s quite a saving.

  • The Glow Up Edit which is packed with products from brands like Aveda and Nuxe and costs £30, though according to M&S, the set itself is worth £133.

  • The Swiss Chocolate Hamper which is packed with tons of smooth and creamy Swiss chocolates made exclusively for M&S; it costs £35 and is perfect for a chocoholic mum.

  • The Mother’s Day Treats Hamper which includes all kinds of goodies from pistachio truffles to shortbread rounds and costs £32.

The gift sets from M&S are nicely packaged and reasonably priced. The beauty gift boxes, in particular, are excellent value. The foodie hampers are brilliant too, particularly if you want something quality that looks pretty but also doesn’t cost an absolute fortune.

Sainsbury's better-than-half Nectar offers and a third off Mother’s Day gift sets

Sainsbury’s has some great options this week as part of its better-than-half-price Nectar offers as well as some of its Mother’s Day gift sets which are a third off. These are perfect for those on a tight budget who want to gift something quality anyway.

Here are just a couple of examples:

  • Better than half price with Nectar on products like Olay moisturisers, youth serums and face creams which now cost £8.50 each down from £20.

  • A third off Mother’s Day gift sets, including Cath Kidston sets which normally cost £20 but are now priced at £13.

These cost less than the M&S options, so are great choices if your mum’s into beauty products but your budget’s on the tight end.

For those who have a thinkmoney SmartPlus account, you can get 3.25% off your Sansbury’s shop with PlusSave.

Tesco Mother’s Day gifts

Tesco has some pretty impressive Mother’s Day discounts via its marketplace if you want to really push the boat out and save a bunch of cash in the process. Here are some examples:

  • Sensse Elite 8 Light Led Face Mask – normally costs £229.99 but is now £179.99 until the 15th of March.

  • Beurer MG100 Infrared Tapping Massager – normally costs £139.99 but is now £109.99

  • Erth Skin London Ultimate Hair Style & Repair set – normally costs £199 but is now £55

There’s also lots of half-price Clubcard offers, including on beauty products like Revitalift where age-correcting serums, night creams, and day creams all cost £15 down from £30, so you can put together your own beauty hamper if you prefer.

For those with a thinkmoney SmartPlus account, you can get an extra 4% off your Tesco shop with PlusSave’s discounted gift cards available via the app.

Key takeaways

Whether you’re looking for a last-minute bargain or something that feels a bit more premium without the premium price tag, the supermarkets have stepped up this year.

  • Lidl has several discounted Mother’s Day gifts, but the offers end on Saturday 14 March.

  • Morrisons’ 3‑for‑2 deal includes low-cost items ideal for tight budgets and runs until Sunday 15 March.
