What’s a County Court Judgment (CCJ)?

A County Court Judgment (CCJ) is a type of court order that can be issued if you haven’t paid back money you owe.

CCJs apply in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. If you live in Scotland, the process is slightly different and is known as “enforcing a debt by diligence.”

CCJs appear on your credit file and can make it difficult to borrow money, which is why it’s best to avoid them.
