How do I cancel a standing order?
Cancelling a standing order is easy. You can either:
- log into Online Account Management, go to the 'Regular Payment' tab and select 'View/Amend' on the standing order you'd like to cancel
- call us on 0161 779 5000
- text ‘CHANGE’, followed by ‘cancel’ and details of what you’d like to cancel to 81122 or 07786 200077.
For example: CHANGE Cancel my standing order with Mr A Smith for £10 due on 16/01/16
Please note, you can only cancel or reduce the amount of an existing standing order by text message, not increase it.
Here are the timescales you'll need to make sure it’s actioned:
- Online Account Management: By 11:00pm the day before the payment is due to be paid
- Phone: By close of business on the business day before the payment is due to be paid
- Text: 2 hours before close of business on the business day before the payment is due to be paid
