How do I pay cash into my account?
You can head into any branch of the Post Office® – there are over 11,000 of them across the UK, so there should be one that’s handy!
Paying in at the Post Office®
Once you’re there, just go to the counter, put your card in the CHIP and PIN device, enter your PIN, hand your cash to the cashier and the money will be in your account instantly.
If you don’t have your card, you can still pay cash in at the Post Office® but you’ll need to use a unique barcode, which is linked to your account. Find out more about this here. Your money will be in your account overnight if you use your unique barcode.
How much can I pay in?
The maximum amount that you can deposit at a branch of the Post Office® is £20,000 per calendar day.
However, at some smaller Post Office® branches, the maximum amount that you can deposit is £1,000. You can check where your local Post Office® branch is and their contact details online using the Post Office® Branch Finder at www.postoffice.co.uk/branch-finder.
